Prediction: It Won't Work

The President of the U-nited States is set to sign an executive order on pay equity. Pay equity is another one of those meaningless 'catch-all' phrases from know-nothing paternalistic boobs.

Obama can go exec order crazy all he wants but none of his signings will succeed. That's my prediction. Nothing will work. Not Thy Brother's Keeper, not whatever he forces into law on health, global warming, minimum wage - whatever.  Just like the war on poverty and drugs miserably failed, so too will this government initiative.

Believe me, in five years they'll still be talking about it. What once led to pats on the backs all around will have turned into looks of disorientation and shrugs of 'wha happened?"

And you all know that's exactly what will happen.

Think of it. He's compelling a business to pay someone they determined is not worth it. It's interference in the system. That's a two minute penalty in hockey; a flag in football. What can the government possibly understand about each and every unique conditions that mark a business? It doesn't and it can't possibly ever know. All it amounts to is "do this, la,la,la I'm a champion for the wominz and the poorz, don't tell me the results, la,la,la" gibberish.

Why, T.C., he has smartz peoplez aroundz him to give him proper direction in order to come up with this scheme! Smarter than you and me put together! I used to believe that. However, one thing I learned in my life is that it's all a ruse. They don't know. They do it for political reasons and nothing else. They do it because they get votes and mostly because they can. They do it to make it look like they're 'solving problems' when in reality they're creating many more unintended consequences. But because they won't be around when the consequences arise, they can claim success in the meantime and blame failures on misapplication (like communists and socialists do in defending the immoral and atrocious affront on humanity those ideologies have perpetuated on civilizations) or on the 'other guy' or as is common practice on 'deregulation' and 'capitalism. Circle of life.

Capitalism is NOT the source of the inequities. Government regulations is. Capitalism just reflects the collective wisdom of the market. Life is unfair. Government tries to shove a triangle into a square in trying to adjust human nature. They failed that class in Sesame Street I reckon.

Moral of the story? Stop trusting the government for issues that can easily be dealt with in the private sector. Politicians don't know or care. Reminds me of that scene in 'A Bronx Tale' when Sonny told Colagero (I paraphrase) 'Mickey Mantle your idol? See if Mickey Mantle covers the rent when your father can't.'

The government wants to be my partner; my idol. But I don't see them asking if they can cover my mortgage and nor should they. If I want to make a deal with loan sharks I'll go see Gary.

I digress.

Unless you've actually sat behind the desk of a company or business and had to ponder, offer and negotiate a contract with an employee, you have little to add to the discussion. No, the '77 cents on the dollar' statistic doesn't make you an expert since that figure (just like the gun-control stats shamelessly and irresponsibly thrown around by progressives) considers so many factors and conditions it's almost rendered useless. It doesn't say much of the reality of why there's 'pay inequity.'

I know it's hard for leftists who will cheer on the Prez - you get the greedy 1.3455868686% basterds Obama! We refuse to decimalize! -  to wrap this around their non-business heads but business owners and CEO's actually don't, more often than not, operate like they think. Believe you me, if that person is valuable - regardless of creed or race or color -they will get paid.

Obama is just being an economic and social reactionary here. Not surprising because he (just like his wife is not qualified to tell American how to eat) never worked a day in his life in business. No wonder his message largely speaks to people with the same lack of experience.

Facts are facts and just keeping it real here.
